Fabric store? Bed, Bath and Beyond? online search for "travel
iron"? hotplate, tea kettle, homemade adapter for the spout,
and a length of rubber tubing?

Hi List,

I would like to use steam on an upcoming key bushing job, but
have not been able to find any of the handy devices my

hold-it-in-your-hand gizmo capable of producing a fine, steady
stream of steam?

Proctor Silex electric kettle #1057 if you can find one. It is a
one-piece small kettle with a sliding part on top to make it
whistle if you want it to. Slid back, the opening supplies a
steady and focused stream of steam. The kettle does not have an
auto-shut-off so it works continuously. I found mine in a
second-hand store for $5.
