hammer felt separated

Hi Janet,
I have used a small c-clamp to put it back in place and hold it there,
placing the clamp about midway  just behind the shank after putting some
glue in first, Titebond works then wrap the hammer with carpet thread or
Kite string several turns and tie it off.
