Oh, so close to perfectamundo ... but that last line ..... I think going for the near-sound of the original is throwing it a little wacky ... how about
"And a bunch of sluggish, sticky keys"

After a couple confused type protestations as to the validity of the word Cartridge in day one... I re-instated carton in lue of a better suggestion. Marshall's day 12 looked good to me... so here we have it. Day 13 .... uncharted territory for this song :)
Cheers

On the 12th day of December, a piano came to me...
With twelve tubby bass strings
Eleven jacks a-jumping
Ten twisted stickers
Nine rotten bridles
Eight chewed up dampers
Seven grungy flanges
Six busted elbows,
Five broken strings !
Four coats of paint,
Three warped posts,
Two pedals bent,
And a carton of several bare keys
