Not wanting to unduly criticize a basically good product... I find that
LED light failure after a couple 3 years use to be quite common. I'm
kind of a minimalist in many regards and have wished for several years
now a gadget free version of the DC system. Clear water container... no
smart bars.. only a humidistat, two heat bars (one for each task, and an
off and on switch for electronics. This would be great for University
grands where the piano tech takes care of watering anyways. ALTMO.
I've also had 3 humidistat failures, water depth sensor failures, and
smart bar failures.

Brad,
Yes. Just about a month ago, I ran across a bad light assembly (new
style). The water (amber) light would come on when it felt like it.
I was somewhat skeptical at first because when I troubleshot it by
yoyoing the probe in and out of the water, the light behaved
normally. But during the course of tuning the piano, the amber light
came on three times. The tank was plenty full.
Replacing the light assembly seemed to fix it, i.e. no call from the
customer since.
