Hi, The LAFFARGUE PIANO COMPANY was established in 1896 in New York. In 1904 it was incorporated and later became part of the Aeolian American company. Yours was made in 1925. I hope this helps!

Subject: Help with LaFfarg serial number/worth

Greetings,

What is the year of mfg. of a Laffarg (it reads 'New York' below the Laffarg) grand piano with a serial # of 85439? Also are these pianos anything special? Inside on the action there is a tag that reads Staib-Abendsghein - N.Y. Looks to me as though some German action mfg'r set up shop in New York and made the actions. I dont know what would be French about the piano then. Wierd.

Thanks
