False beats ....was M&A A

Well Dale, and boys -
First, remember to play nice.
Second, the tragedy/irony is that we've flown off on a tangent of a
tangent, which is, of course, mathematically incorrect but
figuratively accurate enough for me. Not only did the unfortunate
fortune cookie wreak havoc on an innocent little thread, now, even
the attempt to resuscitate it (the thread, not the cookie) is a
mis-launch. Talk about so little time, how many bad analogies can
reside in a couple of sentences.

So, let's drop the issue about Paul's signature quote, or at least
re-title it. This all started because it inadvertently got copied to
the top of a few posts. You have to stand in awe, in this age of
technology, how much misunderstanding can derive from font size and
style. And the reticence to employ the occasional emoticon.

Jon, I think you've mis-read Paul, unless it's his capitalized name
in his address that you're objecting to. That's been bugging me for
years! (emoticon here)

Dale's effort to re-title the conversation fails on two
counts. First, it's still not talking about false beats. Second,
Paul doesn't want to call them false beats, so in order to get back
to the real subject, we either have to explore the semantic
implications, which is not altogether a bad thing, or else we have
to, temporarily or simultaneously (in a different discussion?) get
back to discussing the physical phenomena, thus laying the groundwork
for another big argument on the subject. Maybe, Paul, the re-naming
of the phenomenum / phenomena could be the ultimate achievement of
the successful investigation!

Peace!
