writing off PTG convention registration fees

Greeetings, 

          Can the registration fees be written off?  The instructions on 
schedule C, line 24b say that only 50% of meals can be written off. If the 
Convention registrartion fee includes a banquet meal...what to do?  I would guess 
just write the whole darn registration cost off, or is it 50% of the registration 
fee, because it includes a banquet meal that can be taken?? ...Whart a parin 
in the a**. At this time of year it really burns me up and is so easy to think 
of uncle sam as SUCH a freaking FREE_LOADER, taking my hard earned money
