Thanks Dean, I did see the one strip, but wasn't looking for the other. I'm sure it is there. I did try turning off the speakers but I only noticed controls on one of them.------------- Original message from "Dean May" <deanmay at pianorebuilders.com>: --------------

There should be no noise on a one year old system. See if you can isolate it. It is probably coming from the power supply mounted up between the beams. It might be coming from powered speakers mounted underneath. Try turning them off to see if it goes away.

There should be a 3/4" wide ground strap running from the power supply to the sheet metal box covering the solenoids. There should also be one running from the same box to the control box in front. Call Nina Butler at PianoDisc, (866) 343-8324. You should carry this number with you so if you run into problems in any customer’s house you can call tech support on the spot.

How old is the system? Some of the older systems did hum with the silver power supply.

Hi List,
Tuned a PR gp-142 with a piano disc system today. Last year I installed a Dampp Chaser system in this piano as well. After tuning ,I turned on the piano disc and played a cd. When I was about two minutes into it I hit the stop button and started to pack up.
A very noticable hum was heard comming from what I think was the amp.
It was not there before. Also this piano gets very little use and was sitting dormant for at least six months.
What can I do to fix it?
