Wurlitzer Grand Action Bracket IssueI had an action with expanded brackets and called Schaff and they asked for the bracket numbers and sent me replacements. of course, this has been many years ago. strange problem alright! ----- Original Message ----- From: Farrell To: Pianotech List Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 8:25 AM Subject: Re: Wurlitzer Grand Action Bracket Issue No doubt at all this is a YC expanding bracket. I'll second what Jon said - chisel and hammer - just bust that sucker up. The other option is to remove/loosen the keybed, but you should be able to break the bracket. Another option would be to simply leave it in there for a few more years - chances are it will disintegrate on its own! Terry Farrell ----- Original Message ----- >Any suggestions as to how the action can be removed short of drastic measures? Sounds like expanded brackets. Good luck getting replacements and figuring if you need the large or small ones. You might gain some clearance by raising the glide bolts thereby lowering the balance rail. If that doesn't work, cut the brackets. Or test with a cold chisel to see if they will shatter.
