Er--- uh.... Graphite is non hygroscopic.... actually its a fabulous 
water repellent.  That said... I like teflon better too... but because 
is it globular in structure and not crystalline.  Seems to work better 
as a lubricant for felt bushings in anycase.

    I prefer to use microfine powdered
    teflon.  Graphite seems to attract moisture in
    humid climates and gum up.  Maybe there are other
    chemical things coming from the wood, but it just
    doesn't seem to work well long-term.
