Live at the Atelier: Starr Parodi You're Invited..... I've known Starr Parodi for years; she and her husband, Jeff Eden Fair, have been clients---I maintain the 1928 Steinway "B" she uses for all her recordings---and have become friends; they're lovely, conscious, funny humans, and both immensely talented, Jeff as a writer, guitar player, and recording engineer/producer. Ever since I first heard Starr play, and certainly since the Atelier has existed, I have encouraged her to bring her massive gift into the world via playing live. I believe the woman is a healer, a sage, a beautiful goddess, and kick-ass, truly pan-genre musician. Before I knew her, she played with an unbelievable array of famous jazz and pop singers and musicians, and was the musical director for Arsenio Hall's wildly successful late-night talk show from 1987 to 1995. Starr and Jeff have composed music for dozens of films and hundreds of film trailers. "Parodi's pianistic sense and delivery go way beyond creative. Words that come to mind while listening to [her latest CD] include imaginative, courageous, dynamic, passionate, gutsy, pensive, restrained, and euphoric. I'm thoroughly entranced by the whole experience."- Mark Vail, Keyboard Magazine That CD, "Common Places," will be for sale the day of the concert; it has my highest recommendation. This is a performance that should not be missed; Starr and the Atelier are a perfect fit. "This deeply passionate and beautiful recording is one of the best albums of the year." - Chris Douridas, Grammy nominated host of KCRW's "New Ground" Please join us for an amazing afternoon..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Live at The Atelier: Starr Parodi DATE: Sunday July 15, 2007 TIME: 2:00 PM LOCATION: The Atelier RSVP: Jenika 310-457-5604 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coming Up ------------------------------------------------------------ Exciting possibilities for the month of August..... --- COMING THIS FALL: Tamir Hendelman, Mike Garson Trio, Mario Feninger, and more....stay in touch... --- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Call Jenika or email us and let us know how many will be coming and we'll give you all of the details.
