What would Steinway do

That's interesting. What's that say about all the original (looking anyway) Steinway restorations with new soundboard made out of Eastern Spruce (as from a well-known soundboard "reproducer" in Quebec). Jumpin' Jimminies Batman, it's not even the same species of wood used in the original!
