I've installed numerous systems in Yamaha product and have always drill a hole close to the top edge of the panel and finished with a fine tooth saw cut to open the hole to the top. Never had a customer complain about altering their piano. The area is out of sight. I would be more concern about the customer watering the inside of the piano with the tube coming up the side to the top. I have cut a half round before. One thing, always discuss it with the customer, before altering their piano. John M.
