The HASP was basically a USB key that allowed use of the program on multiple computers. You could only use PTBiz on the computer that had the HASP plugged into it. Another one of those pesky security features that contributed to the death of the software. :-) (Which I still use and like, but am looking for another program that doesn't cost a fortune and is more user-friendly than the ones currently available.) The last "new" version that I know of allows unlimited installs without any security keys - software or hardware. I bought it a couple years ago because of a computer crash. There might be two new features, but it works essentially the same. Ed "let me" buy it for $150 since I had been a user for a long time. When I asked him if he had a lower "upgrade price," he said, "That is the upgrade price." :-) I forget how many upgrades I purchased, including the HASP. But all things considered, it has been well worth the money. I wish it hadn't gone away...had great potential.
