Are there many piano techs who are veterans?

Well, that all depends...  I did haircutting for my shipmates for 3 1/2 
years w/o a "special license". - it kept me in beer money... ;-}

A ponderable for you: Is pruning hair on rolling ships actually training 
for tuning pianos with rolling bridges?
