What's "the latest" for sluggish actions, please?

Dear List,
     I'm trying to break my "Protek habit" on account
of the Teflon (TM) in it. Not only am I unhappy with
exposure to it ( see the big "DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY!"
on the can, and remember that skin ( and lungs ) are
also absorbent! ) but am also not happy about the
morphology of it, though it works well, ---- that
someone, in the factory, is exposed to it every day.
    So I'd like to try some of these other recipes,
and sort of forget what they were....various
alcohol/water combinations and such. Please share,
briefly, your favorite. The "patient" is a  wonderful
old Everett, with a  sort of "gummed up", dirty
action.
