Anyone tune a Samick vertical, model 247? Bleh! At least this one today was. A regular church customer bought this beauty without asking my opinion first. Sigh...but at least it DOES look really good from the outside. Pins were terribly tight, and it would have been a complete nightmare without the Reyburn CyberHammer. The usual "glass-breaking" Samick sound made octave tuning not so critical. Does that qualify as a "feature"? :) There was a dorky looking decal on the top left inside panel that proudly proclaimed "Action Testing - Done." Woo-hoo, I guess. Reminded me of Janssen's creed. I was thinking that if all the pianos I had to tune were like this I would have to either find alternative employment or end up in a padded room somewhere sorting pocket lint. The pastor seemed pleased with it, though. "It's got a big sound," he said, with a smile. I said, "Yeah, it sure looks nice," also with a smile. (There goes my chance for a voicing sale, I suppose. Maybe in a few years when all you can hear are partials 12 and higher.) End of rant...I feel better now. JF
