Is the height of the sticker rail correct? If the rail is two low in the bass, it may raise the hammers. The rail is attached to the action bracket with a screw that often loosens up. Sometimes there is a nail or pin to prevent the rail from moving if the screw is loose - sometimes not- or maybe the pin has been removed. I make it standard practice to tighten these screws at time of tuning. They are always loose.
