I don't know if this has been mentioned: Perhaps there is a problem with the fit of the to the pin block in the troublesome area. Remove the action, and with a feeler gauge or very thin palette knife, see if there is a gap between the pin block and the plate flange. I have found new grands of higher quality (than Instruments from Korea) that had a stretch of almost 2 feet long where the pin block was not touching the plate flange.
