I seem to remember a discussion along these lines some years back
between Del, myself and Andre. Del, if I remember correctly took the
position that the de-ribbed old panel could be seen more or less as a
fresh panel as far as constructing a RC&S board was concerned. If that
is correctly remembered... then I would think you would more or less
scrap the old rib scale and design a new one.
I suppose he may choose to chirp in and correct and clarify.

For those converting original pure compression boards to rib crowned and
supported boards, how important would it be to consider the overall
mass of
the total rib scale of the original design versus that of the new design
versus, say, simply the deflection characteristics of the new rib scale.
Further, is there a way to numerically describe the desirable
mass/stiffness
ratio?
