Hi Patrick, I bought both of the books. The Amarilli website gives a bit of information about the contents. I don't know the author As to whether they are worth having, well, that may depend on what you want them for. if you like to have all that's availaible, as background and reference (as I do) then they're worth having. Are they a substitute for Reblitz? In my opinion, not at all. They are nicely reasoned, and the tuning one rather "philosophical", but Reblitz is still the one, as a practical hands-on volume. The two Capleton books are not illustrated photographically in anything like the way that Reblitz is. Certainly the Tuning book is superior to W. Braid White, though, in my opinion. It's 620 pages long, and of course more than fifty years more modern in the understanding of physics and acoustics than White. The regulation book is well explained, but I think it would be very much better had it been fully illustrated. There is a difficult balance to be struck, I guess, between quality and cost. Books on piano tuning and regulation are not a high-volume publishing market, and don't therefore commend 'economies of scale'. (I seem to be lapsing into musical terminology without intending - volume, scale!) Best, David. David, Have you read them? Are you familiar with the author? It's hard to know if they're worth purchasing and reading, from this side of the pond, without further information.
