Riblets

See the August issue (picture of an installed riblet on the cover) of the Journal.  The article, "Voicing the Soundboard with Weights and Riblets"  is on page 26.

In the picture, it appears the center section on the table is not in the same plane as the two flat end sections - it seems that if you crank this thing up to the bridge bottom, you will tend to flatten out the soundboard - or am I not seeing things correctly?

  The original what? Are these things replacing ribs? Or are they additional small ribs? Sorry, I must have missed something somewhere.
