I've used a palm nailer for some time. I originally bought the short handled four pounder (single jack, I suppose it's called) because I was using a 2-1/2 pound long handled hammer that was getting more miserable to use with each stringing. The four pounder was much less tiring, and considerably easier on the ligaments. I didn't have to swing it nearly as hard or often as I did the 2-1/2 pounder to drive a pin, so the net damage was less. I still use it for final leveling touch up.
