Those screws you see in my pictures are 3-1/2" long. The finished assembly is
stronger than the original. As I said earlier -- Don't forget the screws. Well,
you could use dowels if you like. Just make sure they are 3-1/2" to 4" long.

Depending on the condition of the pinblock to backpost glue joint and glue
joints in general on the entire frame/case, yes, I agree. If there is ANY doubt
about the integrity of the pinblock to backpost glue joint, replace the entire
pinblock.
