I use an Ipaq running tunelab.
Here are a few ways to deal with power.

I now have a unit charger that plugs into my car lighter socket.
It was cheap, and I arrive with 100% charge whenever I want. I can
do 10 tunings, talk hours on the cell phone, browse the internet, send
and recieve e-mail, book appointments into outlook, e-mail bills etc.....
on the fly and never worry about power...it is always charging between
appointments. Just don't think about power anymore. The car charger was
a great investment.
Neverless, without a charger here are ways handle it..........

1) With the light display brightness turned down low the battery life is
doubled and the display still looks great indoors.

2) Keep sound low. Beeps, clicks, announcements, reminders that click
whistle or sing steal battery power. Leave sound on but with low volume.

3) Turn it off when not using it. For example after dong centre strings
in midsection I might turn off the machine while pulling in unisons.
I will turn back on just as you last left it.

With the above habits I use about 12-14% of the battery for one
one hour tuning with tunelab. I can do 6 tunings use the calander,
and make a couple cell phone calls on one charge.
Since I book 4 per day usually this is more then enough. But the
occassional meaga tuning day motivated me to take the biggest single step.

                                                 Cheers
                                                 David Renaud
