My guess at to why the felt is wearing on one side is the side-bearing induced at the factory and perhaps a rough, oxidized wire. Clean and polish the wire and adjust the bends so that the wire travels straight in the bushing and not bearing on a side. Once the wire travels without friction, in the bushing and in the top flange; adjust the head over the center of the unison and check its proximity to the plate. You may end up trimming some of the head. Make certain that the 90 degree wire bend above the strings is at a suitable angle. -- Regards, Jon Page
