So lets see if I got this right then...

Chickerings.... what went out of business a ways back and whose name 
eventually landed with Baldwin... who themselves went tits up a couple 
years back and are now owned and produced by Gibson guitars (and we all 
know that violins and guitars are not pianos....) are then essentially 
produced second hand through what remains of Baldwin by a guitar 
manufacturer from Kalamazoo Michagan ?

    Chickering has been a brand name owned by Baldwin since the late 1980s.
