Just about every mail client allows you to choose whether to send / 
reply / compose or whatever in either/or HTML format or text.  If you 
choose just plain text, all non text data including attachments just 
gets removed. 

I'm unsure of whether there is a way in any mail client to simply strip 
pictures only...  tho there are some that have a check box for viewing 
them or not in a recieved mail

    Is there a preference box that can be checked in either program to
    automatically exclude pictures from the reply, or is manual deletion
    the only way?
