Most methods of trying to clean them will simply ruin them. Someone probably handled them poorly during manufacture or the copper sat around a too damp environment before manufacture and started to oxidize. If the customer is complaining and the piano is under warranty refer it to the manufacturer. Likely they are not compromising the sound at all.
