I bought mine from Pianotek. They have two sizes, 1/4" part #BSE-1 and 3/8" part #BSE-2. I don't have a recent price list, so can't give a price. Their e-mail is service at pianoteksupply.com John Ross ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Spalding" <mike.spalding1 at verizon.net> To: <pianotech at ptg.org> Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2008 2:55 PM Subject: Re: [pianotech] Upright Broken Backcheck Wire removal Patrick, I've never been faced with this particular problem, but I have a tool that I think could do the job. It's sold as a broken screw remover. It looks like a miniature hole saw. It's a steel tube 1/4" diameter by 2" long, with sawteeth ground in the end. All you need is a reversing drill (the teeth are set for reverse rotation). And you'll have to plug the hole, then drill for the replacement backcheck wire. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=983 good luck Mike pcpoulson at sbcglobal.net wrote: > Good Morning: Does anyone know of a good way of removing the broken > off stub of a backcheck wire from an upright wippen?
