Regarding Yamaha G1´s, I have both a G1 and a G2, and I can testify that at least the G1 I have, after many years of use (since ´78) still is an excellent and sensitive instrument holding its intonation quite well in Brasília which has the extremes of very dry climate for 6 months and a rainy season for about as long. The G2 is less sensitive perhaps due to the fact that it was not played for many years before I purchased it but, as was commented on previously, a sanding/trimming of the sound board could make a difference.
