[pianotech] Removing glue and felt residue

what's the best method for removing the old felt and glue residue. The last time I did this with razor blades and sandpaper it took forever. 

After you remove what you can with a razor, use white vinegar, soak the felt that is to be removed with a few drops at a time until the felt cannot hold any more. Let sit until felt is ready to slid off. You can put plastic wrap over the felt to keep from drying.  After felt is removed let the area dry.

This may take more time than you want, but it works and you will have a clean surface to re-glue on.

This is one way, the list will most likely have several more to add.
