As far as bass strings are concerned take a bread tie(small peace of wire) put it through the hitch pin loop and around the neighboring string. Twist ends of tie and let it slid down bass string with the new string. When you reach the bass bridge remove tie and connect the string to the hitch pin then bridge. Make sure the new string is not twisted with its neighboring string, make your coil and pull up to pitch.
