Greeetings,

In calculating piano note frequencies, When I use 1.059463094 looking in the
Reblitz book, my answers are alittle off (at ca. some 2nd & n3rd places to
the right of 0) according to his answ3ers.

Just how many decimal places is proto cal /good to use here? Also, should
harmonics be calculated the way we were taught in Physics class namely, by
multiplying 440 by 3/2 and 4/3, or should the 1.0954.... be used for
calculating them? My guess that to use the fractional ratios is to mix Ptolomaic
method with moderne ET method, and mixes "apples and oranges", (or rather,
clementines at this time of year)

In the long run, I am trying to calculate the frequencies of the Valotti
temperament, as shown on Rollingball, I just want to see them, and then play
with them. I wonder why Rollingball charts give m3, M3, & P5's but NO P4ths
to tune by. P4ths are my buddies, they whisper in my ear if its going right
or wrong.

Thank You,
Julia
