Although I prefer to fit my appointments during "9 to 5", with the current economy (and my two kidz largely off on their own, and my wife not infrequently stuck with early evening meetings ((to go along with the 7 am meetings)) ), evenings and Saturday mornings are fair game. That said, I think I'm on the high side of local rates in an expensive state, so I might already be at your "base rate with a 50% shift premium" (if you aren't in one of the extra high cost areas).
