I think what is at heart here is the work that went into assembling all
the data in the first place. I'm unsure of what US courts would find
legal or not these days... one only need look at what is being
essentiall <<passed off>> as Steinway pianos from our rebuild world to
see that the legal area in the states on this kind of thing is quite
grey. That said... I would agree one hundred thousand percent that the
copying and reproducing in any form of such data is unethical.
Now if someone went out and re-assembled in his/her own effort all that
data independently thats another matter. But copying other peoples work
or using other peoples names remains exactly what it is... unethical.
Assuming that Mr Ashley is indeed simply copying data from another
source as you maintain, then I agree Joe... and I applaud you for
standing up for what is right.

"Publishing the contents of a copyrighted book is both illegal and
unethical. Participating in the benefits of this revelation of
material and
subsequent copying of it puts all parties at risk. Be warned. The
publisher
Larry Ashley is now in pursuit of this highly unprofessional,
disgusting
practice so many of you seem to take lightly. I challenge the PTG
members in
charge of this list to forthwith make statements and effect
practices to
stop this behavior now and prevent the inevitable law suit.
For shame on this body of miscreants.
