Both... and quite a bit of trial and error over a year or so really. One of the nice things about working in a University situation is that you have lots of opportunity to do things over and over. You get a feel for how much glue to lay on any given cloth. Too much will of course push off the sides when you try and spread it out with your finger now matter what you do. Too little wont spread over the whole surface so as to seal it. So you want enough to do the latter at least... more for thicker cloth. Try a few sample lengths with different bushing cloth thickness... you'll see what I mean pretty quickly. Then its just to get a feel for how much you need to firm up the cloth enough for wear and tear concerns.. but not too much so as to make for too hard a bushing. I might suggest you start by making too hard a bushing and back off from there... :) Cheers RicB How is it that you control the wicking in? The amount of glue? The amount of pressure? Both? Barbara
