Titebond Trim and Molding glue for bushings....

Both... and quite a bit of trial and error over a year or so really. One
of the nice things about working in a University situation is that you
have lots of opportunity to do things over and over. You get a feel for
how much glue to lay on any given cloth. Too much will of course push
off the sides when you try and spread it out with your finger now matter
what you do. Too little wont spread over the whole surface so as to
seal it. So you want enough to do the latter at least... more for
thicker cloth.

Try a few sample lengths with different bushing cloth thickness...
you'll see what I mean pretty quickly. Then its just to get a feel for
how much you need to firm up the cloth enough for wear and tear
concerns.. but not too much so as to make for too hard a bushing. I
might suggest you start by making too hard a bushing and back off from
there... :)

Cheers

How is it that you control the wicking in? The amount of glue? The
    amount
    of pressure? Both?
