Some hammers have a lot of tension still and require extra strength and holding time. That's why I use a thick CA on the molding and white glue on the felt and clamp with Vise-Grips. CA alone wicks into the felt too much, away from the joint, and you risk a failure. The white glue on the felt soaks in a little but also activates the CA on the molding on contact and the clamp insures a good contact. Pre-set the clamping pressure of the Vise-Grips before applying glue to do the gluing operation in one quick motion. -- Regards, Jon Page
