So for instance, you'd recommend a CA key bushing repair for a 20 year old Yamaha U3 in somone's home? I've serviced some very large, very high quality, very concert-worthy pianos in homes where I think it would be quite improper to conduct such a repair. I don't think the venue should be the determining factor for the appropriateness of gluing a key bushing in with CA, but rather the instrument. I think it would be highly inappropriate for someone to do such a repair to any high quality (or even good quality) piano in any home. I think CA can appropriately be used on key bushing repair on piano that are clearly very unlikely to ever see a new set of key bushings - and even then, only maybe on a piano that is gasping for its last breath. As I indicated previously, Bill Spurlock sells a on-site key bushing repair kit. CA is great stuff, and I use it a lot. But it is not for everything. Keep in mind also that many of the lurkers on this list have far less experience than yourself - hey, even less than me! Terry Farrell ----- Original Message ----- As I said, for "in home" repair. Willem (Wim) Blees, RPT -----Original Message----- Oh Wim, please tell us you only do that method repair on 1948 beat up Gulbranson spinets. You wouldn't do that on a nice concert instrument - right?????????????? Terry Farrell ----- Original Message ----- For in home repairs likes this, if the old busing is there, I've use CA glue, and just put them back in place, holding on to the bushing with a screw driver.
