Silica Gel Dessicant in Pianos

These are placed in new pianos by the manufacturer. Their purpose is an 
attempt to minimize the effects of exposing the new pianos to environmental 
extremes during shipping. Once they arrive at the dealer, there job is done.

Their effectiveness may be better than nothing - or not.
