"Goo Gone" might be useful for removing the old sticky stuff, if the
vinegar doesn't do the trick.  At least, it works wonders on keytops
covered in antique masking tape, etc.  I use a hammer shank as a scraper
on keytops -- don't know if that would be helpful on the music desk.
