A client of mine was in the market for a new concert grand recently.  He had a selection of several Hamburg Ds from which to choose.  He said that at the current value of the dollar against the Euro, it would have cost him about $200,000.00.  (In the end, he wound up purchasing a Steingraber concert grand which he liked even more, and he got that for a Few Dollars Less.)

To Bay Area piano techs on the list.   I saw an advertisement in the SF Chronicle a month ago or so for a 1956 Hamburg Steinway D for sale.   Does anyone know anything about that?   Also what does a new Hamburg D cost in dollars?   OUCH!
