It might make a great ringtone or startup sound on the computer. Kindest Regards, Garret ? Here at the Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts, we had a student compose a piece a few years ago that involved breaking a string by tuning it it ever sharper until... recording the sound, which was then processed as part of a live laptop improvisation. ?The piano I designated for this was an old Baldwin F. ?If memory serves, we chose a note somewhere in the vicinity of C5 (though I don't recall exactly why). ?In the "rehearsal", we got it to go about a fourth sharp before the over-stressed wire gave up the ghost. ?How far sharp you can go depends on the percentage of the breaking point the wire is at "normal" pitch. ? YMMV. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/pianotech.php/attachments/20080726/213616d3/attachment-0001.html
