Hello all,

A rebuilt Steinway D # 464062 left our shop here in Strawberry, AZ Saturday
night en route to an Oakland, CA piano storage facility prior to its final
journey. The piano mover, Drexel Cunningham (AKA as Drex's Express), who we
have used twice before for interstate moves with good results, has been
missing in action along with his assistant since his departure. Along with
obvious personal contact, he has been known to us primarily through a cell
phone number and an email, both of which purportedly support a real office,
whether in his LA-area home or elsewhere.

Like most interstate movers Mr. Cunningham informed us that en route to
Oakland he may have occasion to work in another pickup or two, and that the
Oakland arrival date (Monday the 24th) was not set in stone. That said, we
have not heard from him since he left our shop. In the past he has always
returned cell phone calls. The Oakland storage facility called us to inquire
about Drexel's ETA, since they too had not heard from him, and this after
they had left a couple of cell phone messages.

At this point something is fishy. We have called the California highway
patrol and they report no accidents or other untoward accounts of his
whereabouts. We are in the process of investigating likewise here in
Arizona. We do not have his vehicle license plate number. He has left us
with paperwork which shows a "shipper's number" and a "carrier's number".

Worst case I may need to report this instrument as stolen, but where to
begin? State DA's office? Etc.?

So, to the List: anyone had a similar experience? Any thoughts, legal advice
or suggestions would be welcome.

Wishing you all a pleasant Thanksgiving Day.

Regards,
