Stephane, Thanks for your input on this subject. I am at the beginning of a testing phase to see if I can find a better plate finishing schedule, and your method looks like one I would like to try out. I checked out the Motip web site. You say that the products you use which are available in your location are the "hobby products." On the web site, several different product lines have the primer, lacquer, and clear varnish: Home & Hobby, Universal Lacquer, and Industrial Lacquers. You seem happy with the results of the products from the Home & Hobby line. Do your have any knowledge, either personal or from others, about the primer, lacquer, varnish products from the other two product lines? I can contact Motip and perhaps find color samples, get prices, check availability by shipping, etc., but any additional input from you would be appreciated. I'll check the list for any replies when I get back to my office. I'm heading back out to "make the world a more harmonious place." Two more pianos to do today. Here in Belgium, you find Motip cans in the do-it-yourself shops. They only have the hobby products, but that is what I use. Best regards. Stéphane Collin. Where is the material you advocating sold?
