[pianotech] Damper felt regluing

I use Weldbond for any on-the-spot repairs. It's a nice thick consistency, so will help to hold felt in place, and it dries fast, so that you can get on with tuning.

Last year I wanted to replace more than just one or two damper felts, so I put hide glue into plastic film canisters, then refrigerated it. I asked the customer to boil the jug, and dropped a canister into a mug of hot water. Worked a charm. Hot glue is so much easier for upright dampers, as it sets quick enough that the felt doesn't fall off as you lift the action to stick the next one. There is also a ready-made version of re-heatable glue called Winstick.

I could not find this in the archives, but what is the second best type of glue to use when you glue one or two damper felts back on a customers piano, when whipping up a batch of hot hide glue is not practical?
