I'm phasing out my yellow page ads and will also probably go 100% cellular in the next year or two (once I'm sure everyone has the number). I just don't get that many "real" calls from the yellow pages. I don't use them myself and people are using the web for information. I get more calls from people browsing the PTG and my website than I do from the YP. If I had to do it over again I'd spend that money on targeted direct mail (especially since you can produce mailers yourself on a computer), a website (like David A. discussed) and use my current customers as a means for soliciting new business. The YP will soon go the way of the buffalo. For $37 a month I can have my just name and phone number. (I don't have a local phone company number, so it does cost me extra). For $75 a month I can have a bold listing, my web site as a 2nd line, and a phone #. For $85 I can have a 1/2 column ad, with name, services, PTG affiliation and my web site. But he is pressuring me into having my name and web site on Yellowpages.com. He says they will "guarantee" 30 hits per month. (If I don't get 30 hits, the company refunds a prorated amount, based on the number of hits I did get). The cost is $125 per month. I am not yet at the stage in my business development where I can live off just recommendations and repeat customers. It's getting there, but I need more. Do any of you have experience with Yellowpage.com advertising you can share with me? Wim _____ A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
