I use Purplepower from an auto parts store, diluted 50% with water and spray around tuning pins and using a shop vac with large crevice tool to immediately suck it back up while I am spraying with the squirt bottle. After I am done with that step a use a hair dryer to make sure its all dry. At 50% strength it works great. At full strength it can remove paint. The plate and pin block are not dusty, they are dirty! Can it be cleaned without removing strings? What can I use to clean it that will not damage the strings, the pin block, etc.?
