[pianotech] Action Search

Hi Ann,

I happen to own a 1900 or so Everett grand that is right around 5 feet or so
in length (would have to dig to get to it and measure). Is there any model
or other markings on the plate to narrow the possibilities? How many bass
notes? Exactly where did you measure the 5'-3/4" (with lid on, etc.)? Maybe
we should measure keybed length and width and string height also?

One thing I remember about it is that it does not have agraffes in the tenor
and bass - but nor does it have a capo-type setup - rather it has a
screwed-down bar somewhat analogous to the pressure bar on an upright as the
forward speaking length termination. Is yours like that?

Give me whatever details you can so that when I dig back there I can get my
info with the one effort.

I got this piano to rebuild - it is very worn out and not playable - but
everything is there. If I remember correctly, it also has a very nice set of
ivories on it.

Terry Farrell
