I'm very much enjoying Steve Brady's excellent book "Under The Lid, The Art & Craft of the Concert Piano Technician", which I bought a couple of weeks ago. A very useful manual indeed, with very clear photos and line drawings, and it's interesting to see a number of things that have been discussed here, including the use of Protek CLP for string underfelt. The typography is elegant - the leading (space between lines) is wide, so in fact the book could have been made considerably smaller. But it's visually appealing and feels nice in the hand. The "Intermezzi" with profiles/interviews of various luminaries in the trade are really enjoyable. Am really pleased with this!
